There are many different ways to get a high search engine ranking or to use the correct name serps, (search engine results position) on Google or any of the search engines online. If fact there are approximately 200 different criteria that are used to give your page a ranking on the search results pages.

A High Search Engine Ranking Means Being Seen

The attraction to getting these rankings is that they are free, a part from your time and energy into publishing the content. Once listed your link may stay there for years or until someone else comes along and outranks you.

So how do you get a high search engine ranking on the top pages of the organic search results?

There are a I have said quite a considerable amount but the ones I’m going to share with you today aren’t that particularly tech savvy and have given me some great results on the search pages

Setting Up Your Site For A High Search Engine Ranking.

Set Up A blog. Although you may be in a traditional off line business there is no reason you cant have a blog on your site. Google loves blogs because they provide fresh relevant content to their searchers. Word press has a great platform to work from and there is a ton of training online either on the search result pages or even you tube for you to go in and type key word phrases to get help.

Install the following plugins on your word press site

Digg –Digg this plug in allows visitors and friends to share your content with each other over the entire (high page ranking) social networking sites. Which is great for you as it creates back links back to your site and helps lift your overall ranking.
All in one seo. This plug in has a title, description and tags sections to fill out. Make sure to stay under the 160 characters in the description and make this sentence a strong one as it will be the one that will be listed under your title in the search results.
Xml site map. This plug in allows the Google bots or spiders to crawl your site earlier, just upload and forget,

On Page Seo

Place your keyword/ keyword phrase in the first part of the title for maximum effectiveness you can add a – then another phrase after it if you like.
Your keyword needs to be in the first sentence of your content and then around once for every 100 words. Make it natural don’t keyword stuff, this can penalize you. Also have it in the last sentence as well.
Be sure to use plenty of Lsi words these are similar words to your main word eg internet marketing is my keyword I may use internet marketing strategies, techniques, tips etc as extra words throughout my content.
Any images should have the title as your keyword and also add a sentence in to describe the image using the keyword again. Google cant read images and relies on this text to help rank the page.
Make sure you use the category as a parent keyword eg if your keyword is Internet marketing strategies you would use the parent category Internet marketing to categorize this post and any others related to Internet marketing.
Try grouping your blog posts into “campaigns”. Write about 4 related keywords at the same time and then interlink the post together with anchor text links. (This involves highlighting the keyword and using the hyperlink icon and adding the url of the post to the keyword you are linking to). Google loves this as it gives each post more relevancy and you will be rewarded with a higher page ranking.

So Whats my best advice to any one wanting to achieve high search engine ranking?

Do what I did and enlist the help of a mentor you need to find someone who has done the hard yards and is getting the results. That was how I got started and I can confidently tell you it was worth every cent.
