Off Page Seo doesn’t need to be a complicated process and sometimes too much information can leave you confused and frustrated.

There are a ton of off page seo methods available you can implement and most have been listed in the content of the top 10 search engine results listings on Google for the keyword “off page seo.”

What I intend to do in this article is not to go through them all but instead to give you the formula I use to get a high search engine ranking on Google.

Why? Because at the end of the day who has the time to go through and try all the methods, analyze the results and optimize? Why not use what’s already working.

What is Off Page Seo, And Why You Need it?

The main methods Google in particular uses to give you a page rank and search engine position is a mixture of both off page and on page seo. On page seo I will cover in another post but for now let’s concentrate on off page.

The most important off page seo strategy you can master is to become an expert at link building.

When looking to create links to your content you need to keep in mind you want good quality (that is high page ranked links). High-paged ranked links are the ones that are closer to 10 than 0.So for example You Tube has a site page rank of 9 and Ezine Articles has a site page rank of 6.

Another consideration is when linking to sites especially other blogs is that they need to be directly related to the keyword and market you are trying to target. Eg, don’t link to dog training sties when you are selling skin care products. Also if the site that is linking to you has a phrase or alt tag related to what you are trying to rank for then this will also help towards helping your overall position for that keyword.

Link Building Strategies.

Another essential off page seo strategy is to get good quality back links o your content is to use social media sites such as Face book Linked in etc.. , Article directories such as Ezine articles, forums, eg Warrior forum, Video marketing eg You tube.

These are all sites with high page rank and will all go towards helping lift your overall serps (search engine position results) or where you sit in the search engine listings for your chosen keyword.

My Off Page Seo Method of Generating Links

I use the following methods to get good quality back links to my content and have great results on the search engines for my targeted keywords by using these methods.

 Social Media And Book Marking Sites. (Web 2.0)

Only wire.com. Sign up to Only wire and sign up to the 35 or so social media book marking sites they submit to. These include all the main ones such as Face book Twitter Dig, Delicious. This is a free service for the first 300 monthly submissions, which is enough while you are getting started they then have paid monthly plans depending on your usage. I find the 2,500 per month to be good. There is quite a bit of time to set up but once you are you will be able to post your content directly to them by using the Bookmark and share bar button you can download onto your browser from their site.

To use this you simple click on the share icon, fill out your title, description and tags and click auto post. You content is then submitted to the sites you have chosen to send to and these include some very high ranking social media sites which are going to give you a ton of quality back links to your content.

Post in Face Book and Linked in Groups.

You can join up to 200 groups through Facebook which let you post a link url and a short sentence including your keyword .Be sure to join industry related groups .Just type in a phrase such as  seo strategies and all the related groups to that phrase will show up.Click join.Do the same for Linked In,where you are allowed to join 50 groups and 50 sub groups.

 Join A Content Syndication Tribe

Content syndication tribes work by reciprocation .So you syndicate someone else s content for them and they do the same for you.( Bear in mind to syndicate related content to your niche.)

There are quite a few on the Internet and most have a manual submission process, which can be very time consuming. I use one that has an auto syndication process so once it is set up you are syndicating others content on auto pilot and they are doing the same with yours. This is well worth the monthly membership fee and is still by far one of the most reasonably prices on the market.

 Join The Warrior Forum

The Warrior Forum has a site page rank of 10.Not only will you learn a ton from the thousands of members that are in the same industry as you but you are also allowed to put a signature url in with a link to your content in each post that you submit to. These are very good high quality back links as well.

 Article Marketing

There are a ton of article directories that you can submit to. Look at the site page ranks and go for the higher ones if you are going to manually submit.

I tend to write an article and send to Ezine first including a link to my blog post in the url. This gives your post a good back link from a high authority site. Ezine wont accept replicated content, which is why I send them there first. Once published you can then submit manually or use an article submitter and send out to as many as you like. Remember these articles are only to get back links to your blog posts. You aren’t necessarily trying to have the article itself rank for a keyword, although some of the time they do anyway which is a bonus.

A good company that can handle your article submissions and web 2.0 submissions is seo flicks. This is an Indian based firm who are very well priced and efficient if you choose not to do the submissions your self.

To achieve a high search engine ranking or (serps) search engine results position which is actually the correct term on the organic search results for your keyword or keyword phrase requires all the factors I have mentioned above.

There are many different link-building strategies on the Internet and most seo experts will tell you that they aren’t only necessary but compulsory if you want to get a high position in the organic search listings on Google.

For most small business owners employing a seo expert to optimize their site and manage their seo campaign is out of the average advertising and marketing budget. What most people want or need is a clear concise seo blueprint to follow to get them results and ultimately traffic to their site.

Every link strategist has their own theories as to which link building strategies to use and they can vary using any of the below methods. One thing that remains constant is that the quality of the link does matter so make sure you get good quality links from high page ranked, high authority sites.

Some Link Building Strategies To Consider.

• Setting up a blog on your site to generate new relevant content, which can then be posted to social media networking sites to create links.
• Posting on high authority industry related forums using signature links back to your content.
• Article writing and submissions

• Blog commenting
• Linking to .edu, charities, local business, community groups, clubs and local authority sites

• Content Syndication Tribes, These tribes work by reciprocation where by you share each others posts on the web 2.0 sites. These can work extremely well if you get in on the right one and build a good networking group.

Ok,so where and how do you start?

I use a combination of posting on social media sites and using a content syndication tribe for part of my link building strategy.

The groups in both Face book and Linked in allow you to post your urls from your blog post as well as a short message into their groups. Linked in allow you to join 50 groups and 50 sub groups. Face book have a limit of 200. Be sure to interact with others when you post and don’t just drop links and run.

Sign up To Only wire. This is a service that allows you to post up to 300 submissions free per month they then have a paid plan to over that amount. It is quite time consuming to set up as you have to sign up to over 35 different social media sites. Once set up its simply a matter of posting your title, description tags and url and Only wire will auto submit your content to all the social media platforms you have selected

Other Great Link Building Strategies Include:

Joining a content syndication tribe.These work by reciprocation where by you share their content and they share your. The one I use has both a paid and free membership. I use the paid membership because it allows you to share content on autopilot. You get to control which sites you want it sent to in your setting options. There are a few important on page seo strategies you can use to ensure you get a good search engine results position (serps) from Google when your content is ranked for the keyword/keyword phrase you are targeting.

On Page Seo Is Essential

The following on page seo strategies are crucial if you want to get a high search engine ranking on the organic results pages.

 Your Keyword/Keyword Phrase Must Be In The Following:

•  Title, preferably at the start eg if my key word was Link builder I would make my title Link builder – Learn how To Generate Quality Back links.
• Description, Google uses the first 160 characters of your post for the description on the search pages. Make sure you have your keyword in the first sentence preferably and when using it in the “all in one seo” and make sure not to exceed the 160 characters allowed.
• Keyword Density, A good rule of thumb is to have your keyword appear once for every 100 words. This equates to around 1.2-1.4 of the total word count.
• Internal Anchor Text  Links, A great link building strategy that really helps improve your page rank on the search engines is to write in blocks or “campaigns. This involves publishing 4 posts at a time, all relevant to each other. Then use anchor text links to link them to each other in the body of the post just as I have in this post. I also like to include them at the end of my post as related links.
• Url .This should be cut shorter to just be your domain name and the keyword, not the actual title of the post.

You may wonder why some sites don’t do this. You will also notice that they have a high page rank, that is over 5.Google views these sites as authority sites and gives them top result page positions even without them implementing any of the on page seo strategies I have out lined here. So until we earn our high page rank stripes we must abide by the guidelines set out here for on page seo strategies.

• Tags , Use these sparingly always have the main one first and add perhaps up to 2 others ,one can also be your name which is a good idea.
• Category, make sure you list the post under the relevant parent category. For example if the keyword I was marketing was creating back links I would put it into the seo category on my blog.
• Alt Tags, all images need to have the keyword as the title of the image.It is also a good idea to put a brief description in the description part using the keyword and describing the relationship to the image you chose.
• Be use to use the H1,H2 and H3 tags once each with your keyword as well.
• The body of your post should be longer then 3450 words and contain the main keyword once for every 100 words written as a general word of thumb.Be sure to include the keyword in your first and last sentence for optimum on page seo results.

There is of course other considerations to getting your content on the top search engine results pages and they include using off page seo methods such as link building strategies. Google takes into account the amount and quality of the links you have going to your page. Keyword Research is another important factor in your ranking. Knowing how to find good search volume keywords that have “Cracks in the Armour” as I call them will give you a higher chance as well.

Digg-Digg Share plugin:This plug in makes it easier you you and your visitors to share you post in the social media networks.

There are many different ways to get a  high search engine ranking or to use the correct name serps, (search engine results position) on Google or any of the search engines online. If fact there are approximately 200 different criteria that are used to give your page a ranking on the search results pages.

A High Search Engine Ranking Means Being Seen

The attraction to getting these rankings is that they are free, a part from your time and energy into publishing the content. Once listed your link may stay there for years or until someone else comes along and outranks you.

So how do you get a high search engine ranking on the top pages of the organic search results?

There are a I have said quite a considerable amount but the ones I’m going to share with you today aren’t that particularly tech savvy and have given me some great results on the search pages

Setting Up Your Site For A High Search Engine Ranking.

Set Up A blog. Although you may be in a traditional off line business there is no reason you cant have a blog on your site. Google loves blogs because they provide fresh relevant content to their searchers. Word press has a great platform to work from and there is a ton of training online either on the search result pages or even you tube for you to go in and type key word phrases to get help.

Install the following plugins on your word press site

1. Digg –Digg this plug in allows visitors and friends to share your content with each other over the entire (high page ranking) social networking sites. Which is great for you as it creates back links back to your site and helps lift your overall ranking.
2. All in one seo. This plug in has a title, description and tags sections to fill out. Make sure to stay under the 160 characters in the description and make this sentence a strong one as it will be the one that will be listed under your title in the search results.
3. Xml site map. This plug in allows the Google bots or spiders to crawl your site earlier, just upload and forget,

On Page Seo

• Place your keyword/ keyword phrase in the first part of the title for maximum effectiveness you can add a – then another phrase after it if you like.
• Your keyword needs to be in the first sentence of your content and then around once for every 100 words. Make it natural don’t keyword stuff, this can penalize you. Also have it in the last sentence as well.
• Be sure to use plenty of Lsi words these are similar words to your main word eg internet marketing is my keyword I may use internet marketing strategies, techniques, tips etc as extra words throughout my content.
• Any images should have the title as your keyword and also add a sentence in to describe the image using the keyword again. Google cant read images and relies on this text to help rank the page.
• Make sure you use the category as a parent keyword eg if your keyword is Internet marketing strategies you would use the parent category Internet marketing to categorize this post and any others related to Internet marketing.
• Try grouping your blog posts into “campaigns”. Write about 4 related keywords at the same time and then interlink the post together with anchor text links. (This involves highlighting the keyword and using the hyperlink icon and adding the url of the post to the keyword you are linking to). Google loves this as it gives each post more relevancy and you will be rewarded with a higher page ranking.
